Editorial Standards

How we decide what to publish

Every article is based on peer-reviewed research, clinical guidelines and established textbooks. Each one is written or reviewed by a named doctor and shows the date it was last reviewed.

Evidence levels

  • Strong: consistent results from good-quality clinical trials or guidelines.
  • Moderate: some clinical studies, with limitations such as small size or short follow-up.
  • Limited: early, laboratory or anecdotal evidence only.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI tools to help organise research or draft outlines. Nothing is published until a doctor has checked every fact, reference and recommendation.

Independence

We do not accept payment for product rankings or recommendations. Any sponsored content is clearly labelled. We will disclose when we discuss any product we are connected to, including future La Dermatique products.

Corrections

If you find an error, please tell us. We correct mistakes promptly and note significant changes on the page.
